WHERE IT ALL STARTED...

Design has been my passion for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, I decided to transform an old, dilapidated shed in my family’s backyard into an elaborate clubhouse. I looked at that shed and thought, “This has potential!” From concept to execution, I reimagined it into a magical space using odds and ends from the garage and our home. It featured a library, a seating area, a desk, and even a functioning fireplace! Yes, you read that right — a fully functioning fireplace. Which, in hindsight, was quite the fire hazard. I was ten years old! Permits? Adult supervision? Never crossed my mind. But that little adventure lit the spark of creativity that’s fueled me ever since. These days, I still love designing just as much — except now, I know better than to put fireplaces in sheds. Lessons were learned.

 

As I embarked on my professional journey, my interests deeply rooted in both design development and the construction process became evident. Unwilling to limit myself to a single aspect of my field, I embraced the challenge of mastering both, leading to the creation of Jacqueline Ford Design + Build. I swiftly pursued the necessary education, certifications, and licenses to transform my vision into a tangible reality. I assembled a team of like-minded professionals and subcontractors, all dedicated to achieving excellence from the overarching goals to the minutest details. Serving as the principal designer and contractor has been a profoundly rewarding journey, filled with continuous learning and growth. I am passionate about my career, and I eagerly anticipate the future innovations and opportunities that lie ahead.
